Our team includes two dentists, a registered dental hygienist, certified and executive dental assistants, an administrative team, and two laboratory technicians who make our restorations on site — several of them pursuing dental degrees while they work here.
Who are the dentists?
Dr. Giovanni Boiano, DDS, FAGD, FICOI founded the practice in 1995. NYU College of Dentistry, a general practice residency at Westchester Medical Center, and a two-year surgical and prosthetic implant certificate from NYU. He teaches general practice and oral and maxillofacial surgery residents at Westchester Medical Center. Full background.
Dr. Zachary L. Marji, DDS joined the practice as a dentist. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Human Biology from the State University of New York at Albany and his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the New York University College of Dentistry. Full background.
Who runs the office?
Donna Manessis — Office Manager. Donna previously worked at Boiano Dental and left to pursue a career in real estate. Her interest in patient care brought her back to dentistry, and she now leads our office.
Sharolyn Vega — Administrative Assistant. Sharolyn has worked in dentistry for over 15 years and enjoys being part of the team here.
Who will clean my teeth?
Babette Austin, RDH — Registered Dental Hygienist. Babette handles hygiene appointments and much of the periodontal maintenance work described on our periodontal care page.
Who assists during treatment?
Annalisa Piaquadio — Lead Dental Assistant. Annalisa graduated with honors from the Westchester School for Dental Assistant in 2015 and joined the team in 2017.
Isabel Vasquez — Executive Dental Assistant. Isabel brings substantial experience to the practice and has been part of the Boiano Dental team since 2015.
Ivette Suero Urena — Administrative Assistant and Certified Dental Assistant. Ivette works across the front desk and chairside, and is taking classes to advance her career in healthcare.
Lianna Boiano — Administrative Assistant and Certified Dental Assistant. Lianna is enrolled at Touro College of Dental Medicine and is on track to graduate as a dentist in 2028.
Martina Boiano — Certified Dental Assistant. Martina is completing the seven-year combined degree program with Adelphi University and the NYU College of Dentistry, graduating as a dentist in 2030.
Who makes the crowns and veneers?
Our own dental laboratory, Digital Dental Designs, operates on site — fabricating implant, cosmetic and aesthetic restorations for our patients and for other dental practices. It is the reason a crown or veneer can be designed, milled and fitted in a single visit rather than shipped out and waited on. See CEREC one-visit crowns and veneers.
Carmine Gizzo — Senior Laboratory Technician. Carmine trained at the Kerpel School of Dental Technology, founded and ran his own dental laboratory for over three decades producing high-quality restorations, and joined Boiano Dental Group in 2019.
Elias Asevedo, AAS, RG — Laboratory Technician. Elias graduated from New York City College of Technology in 2019 with an Associate in Applied Science in Dental Laboratory Technology and Recognized Graduate certification, and is an inducted member of the National Society of Leadership and Success. He is fluent in English, Greek and Portuguese.
